
Mandatory courses
Any person entering CERN site must follow mandatory courses. To this end, please:
- Access to CERN Learning Hub
- Select Mandatory Courses --> For everyone
- Enroll in these courses:
- Computer Security
- COVID-19-Health & Safety Measures at CERN
- Emergency Evacuation
- Radiation Protection – Awareness
- Road Traffic - Bike Riding (only if you have a bike)
- Safety at CERN
Mandatory courses for the CERN Radiation Area
Any person required to work in a CERN Radiation Area must follow additional mandatory courses. To this end, please:
- Access to CERN Learning Hub
- In the Search bar type and enroll in these courses:
- CERN Beam Facilities
- IMPACT – Fundamentals
- LHC – Machine
- Portable ODH Detector
- Radiation Protection - Controlled Area - Initial
- Radiation Protection - Supervised Area
- Self-Rescue Mask – Initial
Whether the system asks you for the budget code, please contact your supervisor.
Access Requests for the LHC
Once you have done all these course, you have to make Access Requests for the LHC (in Ferney) on ADaMS:
- Login to CERN ADaMS
- Click on Persons -> My data
- Click on Access to accelerators
- Click on one of the desired access points
- Click on Request access for myself --> Create Request
For all necessary access points to be added in your list, please click here.
When going to the tunnel, you will need the following as MINIMUM :
- Safety helmet
- Safety shoes
- Self rescue mask
- Personal Dosimeter (to access entrance through the door to the elevator at the entrance point)
- Operational Dosimeter (to validate your access with your impact number)
- CERN ID Card
**IMPORTANT**
You must never be alone in the tunnel. The minimum personal in the tunnel is 2 people.
